The colonial Government of New South Wales required the services of thousands of contractors to deliver essential services to the community.
The
Government Contracts and Contractors Database consist of 49,164 entries on
successful applicants for contracts awarded by the New South Wales Government
over the period 1832 to 1900.
It covers a wide range of contracts and contains the following details:
| o Name of contractor o Place of residence o Government Agency awarding contract o Details of contract o Time period of contract. |
The
database does not cover contracts awarded for mail deliveries, which are
available in the separate Mail Delivery Contractors Database.
For a fee of AU$25 for each search, History Services NSW will search the Government Contracts and Contractors Database for a nominated person.
You will receive a Result of Search by email in the following format which summarises all the information held for all persons with that name.
