The colonial Government of New South Wales required the services of thousands of contractors to deliver mail services to the community throughout the State.
The
Mail Delivery Contractors Database covers over 12,000 contracts awarded by the
New South Wales Government to persons to provide specific mail services over the
period 1835 to 1901.
It covers a wide range of mail districts and contains the following details:
| o Name of contractor o Place of residence o Postal Line o Time period of contract. |

For
a fee of AU$25 for each search, History Services will search the Mail Delivery
Contractors Database for a nominated person.
You
will receive a Result of Search by email in the following format which
summarises all the information held for all persons with that name.
